Kevin Capacia is a composer, pianist, and drummer/percussionist. Music has been a part of his life ever since starting piano lessons at the age of six. Kevin began his piano lessons with Yuko Tanigami and has continued his studies with Diane Snodgrass, a pianist for the San Diego Symphony. He has also studied percussion with Paul Casey, Ross Sears, and Dr. Jon Astaire. He studied music at Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo where he graduated and received a B.A. in Music in 2013 and continued on his musical education at the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at CSULB where he received a M.M. in Composition in 2016. As a composer Kevin has studied extensively with teachers Dr. Meredith Brammeier, Perry La Marca, Dr. Alan Shockley, Dr. Alexander Miller, Dr. Adrian Verdie, and Dr. Raymond Torres-Santos on perfecting and broadening his craft as a composer.
Kevin has written music on various projects for production organizations like Films by Serendipity, Fistbomb FIlms, Lost Heart Productions, and Tiny Horse. One of his latest projects the "USS Indianapolis: The Legacy" is a feature-length documentary that was in consideration for an Oscar nomination in 2016 and is now currently streaming on Amazon Prime (along with being available for purchase). Kevin has also worked with ensembles like the VEDA quartet, Gnarwhallaby, SoCal Brass Consortium, and the Choral Arts Initiative on original and commissioned works,
As a performer he has played both piano and percussion with various orchestra, wind ensembles, and chamber groups during his college tenure and is currently in the San Diego based bands Latifahtron and Fistfights with Wolves, where he plays drums/percussion.
Along with his performing, Kevin serves as an accompanist for the St. Gregory the Great Parish in San Diego, as well as playing piano at other churches around the area.

Kevin's compositional work is made primarily for media and the concert art setting. He believes that music, in its ultimate goal, is an art of interpersonal communication, and is constantly seeking a dialogue between composer/performer and the audience.

Along with composing and performing music, Kevin teaches music in the San Diego County area. He is as member of MTAC (Music Teachers' Association of California) and specializes in teaching piano, percussion, and composition/theory.
Piano lessons consist of learning repertoire, technique, ear training, and theory. Students of Kevin's may also enroll in CM (Certificate of Merit).
Percussion/Drum lessons consist of learning rudiments, techniques with a variety of different drums, improvisation, and grooves to specific and popular songs.
