About

Kevin Capacia is a composer, keyboardist, drummer/percussionist, and business owner. Music has been a part of his life ever since starting piano lessons at the age of six. Kevin began his piano lessons with Yuko Tanigami and has continued his studies with Diane Snodgrass, a pianist for the San Diego Symphony. He has also studied percussion with Paul Casey, Ross Sears, and Dr. Jon Astaire. He studied music at Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo where he graduated and received a B.A. in Music in 2013 and continued on his musical education at the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at CSULB where he received a M.M. in Composition in 2016. As a composer Kevin has studied extensively with teachers Dr. Meredith Brammeier, Perry La Marca, Dr. Alan Shockley, Dr. Alexander Miller, Dr. Adrian Verdie, and Dr. Raymond Torres-Santos on perfecting and broadening his craft as a composer.

Kevin has written music on various projects for production companies like Films by Serendipity, Fistbomb Films, Lost Heart Productions, Tiny Horse, and Neo Studios He is a member of the Sound Mage Audio team working on all things music and audio for video games. As a composer Kevin has also collaborated with LA based ensembles like the VEDA quartet, Gnarwhallaby, SoCal Brass Consortium, and the Choral Arts Initiative on original and commissioned works, 

Kevin is also an active performer playing across Southern California both as a percussionist and keyboardist. He is the drummer for the group Fistfights with Wolves and plays keyboard for the group Retro Hits Tritbutes.

Kevin currently teaches piano, drums/percussion, and theory/composition across the San Diego area. He is the Owner and Director of the Escondido Music and Art Company!
